Next Attempt on List-Based Picture Book (from Laura’s Morning Pages)

Today, I hope to look at TRUTH again. Struggling with it. If I can’t get a story narrative arc in there (where a problem is actually resolved), maybe just a clearer structure of some kind (morning to night, or all different members of the family taking their turn, or something like that) would help. My list is funny, and I think there is a universal truth in the manuscript. But I’m struggling to find the just-right framework or structure to make it really zing. It needs that so that the reader feels that the items in this list are presented in a particular order, for a particular reason. Otherwise, it just feels too random. Like a shopping list. A shopping list. Which is not good for a picture book!

  1. Following with interest since I have a couple of PB ideas that are too list-like, too!

That just gave me some things to think about with one of my manuscripts. Thank you!!
